People bother me because I'm:
-Black
-19
and I love classic rock. I love all genres of music (except for country and classical) and I don't think that your race/age, etc. should affect your musical taste. As you can see, I'm a huge Beatles fan.

I've edited this so much that I'm just gonna change the name to "My Favorite Classic Rock Songs".

Hey, nice list you got going, there! Let's see, some of my favorites on your list are those by The Beatles. DEFINITELY the Yes song "I've Seen All Good People." I LOVE Jon Anderson's voice. "Dream On" rocks, too! I know what you mean about being stereotyped and being expected to listen to a certain type of music. People used to think I was odd for listening to music that was made before I was born, but that was when some of the best music was made! The stuff that is out today can't really even be considered music.

WHAT! No Who? Where the hell is My Generation, or Baba O'Riley???

Hey, just venting a bit. I know it's your list. Can't argue with your choices, though!

Amen to that. Zindzi, are you unfamiliar with the Who, or do you just not care for them, or do you actually like them but they just barely missed this list?

Positively Fourth Street is one of my favourites also. There are lots of Dylan fans here, but strangely this song rarely gets a mention amongst other's favourites.

Back in 1971 I saw Led Zeppelin live at the Wembley Empire Pool (in London) on their promotional tour for LZ IV, when they played songs such as Stairway To Heaven and Black Dog live for the first time. I also vaguely recall that Sandy Denny appeared on stage briefly for The Battle Of Evermore, but I have never been able to check and confirm this. The concert was very good, but a few months later I went back to the same venue to see Jethro Tull, and they were even better - one of the best live bands around.

Hey !
Black is cool.
Black is beautiful.

Doggystyle is one of my favourite CDs at the moment - shiznit.

... and I wish I were 18.

"Positively 4th Street" is a wonderful song. If it rarely gets a mention 'round here, that may be because, although it has appeared on some Dylan compilations, it was never on any of his classic albums. And Dylan is definitely known more as an album artist than a single artist.

Another great Dylan song that rarely gets a mention here, as you rightly state because of lack of album presence, is 'Knockin On Heaven's Door'.

It appears on the soundtrack to Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid

Well spotted !

I love just about every song on that list...

but you gotta pick up some Pink Floyd... if you like classic rock you have to have Pink Floyd... go get a copy of dark side of the moon NOW!

'Let It Be' is my all-time favourite.

What do you think of 'Baba O'Riley' by the Who ? - another favourite of mine.

Earlier this year I saw the Zombies live - Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent.

I love the selections but you've gotta have some AC/DC on there and Trooper has some good stuff but I'm a little biased.
