- Ah a list, lining up your ducks in a row and shooting them down at the same time. Unalterably succinct yet allows for an infinite number of ways to be interpreted... kind of like anything else in the world though. Sanctuary for the bored, obsessive compulsive, etcetera; I'm glad I have begun to utilize this site haha. Thom, Colin, Jonny, and Phil... Radiohead is one of my favorite bands of all time so now I'm dedicating my first list (woo hoo!) to my favorite Radiohead songs. Going to keep listing from #1 to a number later to be determined, because, well lists should neither have to be set in stone nor constrained from the start.
- 1). Let Down | OK Computer: my most listened to Radiohead song and their most affecting. Let Down's complexity comes not only from it's unique musical structure, which disallows them to play the song live frequently, but from Thom's cynical lyrics coupled with soaring vocals, the xylophonic synthesizer sounds, and well, from these ears a comprehension that sounds close to musical perfection.
- 2). Reckoner | In Rainbows: the sparse, isolated sounding percussion rhythm turns into incredible heavenly bass-driven rhythmic masterpiece. This is how Radiohead does lush.
- 3). True Love Waits | I Might Be Wrong (Live): not a novel concept, but Thom strumming away on the acoustic guitar has a way of tugging at the ole' heartstrings. The best version I've heard is the band's first rendition where Jonny Greenwood plays a backing synthesizer rhythm (I urge all those interested to look it up, I believe they were playing in Brussels).
- 4). Karma Police | OK Computer
- 5). Fake Plastic Trees | The Bends
- 6). Bulletproof... I Wish I Was | The Bends
- 7). All I Need | In Rainbows
- 8). I Might Be Wrong | Amnesiac
- 9). Scatterbrain | Hail To The Thief
- 10). Last Flowers | In Rainbows (Disc 2)
- 11). Weird Fishes/Arpeggi | In Rainbows
- 12). Everything In Its Right Place | Kid A
- 13). Kid A | Kid A
- 14). Airbag | OK Computer
