right, this is a great list and one i WILL have to clone. after giving lots of thought. thing is i go through phases of liking characters, so picking ultimate top 50 will be tough. i think a fair few from green wing will make it, possibly top 5 material.

as for this list, nice choices. i agreee that niles is brilliant. Norm peterson, nice entry, he rules. you must like him, considering you. haven't been watching cheers that long. i expected more simpsons , but i like your chocies. great choices and great list.

Yeah, he's a great character and I had to have him up high despite having seen relatively little Cheers. Same goes for Jim from Taxi - I first saw the show less than a month ago, but he's such a brilliant character I had to include him. More Simpsons, eh? Well, yes, I see what you mean, there are a few that come very close, but I wanted to have as much variety as I could. I agree that there are hundreds of excellent Simpsons characters, though. And hey, 7 from The Simpsons is a fair few!

nice update. to be honest theres many characters i don't know but i'm sure are great. some i agree with Niles, Homer, Cox, Flanders, Dale, and list goes on.

however, i know you're not the biggest south park fan, but if only seen few episodes, you have to realise the genius of Cartman!! that low on the list!??

I know, it does seem low for Cartman... I can't really explain why he's so low.. maybe it's because I like characters that are more three-dimensional.. but I imagine he'll get higher as I see more, don't worry!
