Thanks to kenji for providing this great list. Seems that in older times (the 80s?) western critics had a bit of a different taste than nowadays. Very interesting!

This was the book that opened up new horizons for me and got me hooked on world cinema back in 1988. The top 100 as voted for by 80 international critics' top 10's. Kobal's points system of 10pts for #1 placing in a top 10, but only 1 pt for #10, disadvantaged films like Day for Night, The Godfather, M, The Travelling Players and Dr Strangelove, which all had more votes than some included in the 100.
