My current political leanings, according to this test.
It should be noted that I felt like answering "I don't know" to about 1/5 of the questions, and that all my opinions are easily open to change, since politics is very complicated and I don't have time to be an expert in the effects of certain policies.
Basically, I advocate an anti-ideological political stance, an "empirical politics."
But, I happily have some pretty good company: Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama.
I still really like Metallica's first three albums. I think they will always have a special place in my heart because those albums - along with Dream Theater's A Change of Seasons - were one of the first albums a friend "snuck" into my life back when I was only allowed to listen to Christian music. So, Metallica and Dream Theater were like 10x better music than anything I had ever heard before - it was easy to be blown away by them! I would listen to them with headphones in my room and then pause it whenever my parents knocked on the door. They thought I was listening to dc Talk.
Strauss' Salome is an extremely complex and daring musical work I'm not in the least qualified to comment on. I don't much like the artificiality and limitations of opera, but I do rather like the part where Salome makes love to John's severed head.
It's kind of hard to tell how important relativity or quantum theory will be. I'm waiting to see the results for a theory of quantum gravity - that will greatly impact how important Einstein's insights turn out to be.
I must say I am quite happy with your girl sometimes. Also, Newswipe is awesome.
Holy crap. The Jon Stewart of the UK. What an awesome show this is so far.
Our leaders are more dangerous than our sworn enemies.
This is the last straw. I'm finally moving to Australia.
Wow.
I am so there.
Oooh, yeah, I like that better.

I usually don't enjoy opera, no.
Yeah, that or "dance", I think...

darktremor (and others):
If you had to come up with a word to talk about rap, techno, house, drum'n'bass, dubstep, grime... what would it be? It isn't "rock". What is it?
Thought of the moment:
Science doesn't "disprove" God. It can't.
Well, I guess science "disproves" God the same way it "disproves" fairies.
If I lose my job in L.A. it might be kinda fun for a month or two. :) I wouldn't do it for the resume, but for the company.
