I'm sure there's better Zorn stuff out there (I really should explore his catalog some day), but I doubt there's anything that's as fun. I think it's Eye's gibbering vocals that make it for me -- the other Naked City album I own isn't nearly as cool.
And there's nothing wrong with being lured by obvious hooks. Fuck it -- on this year's music-poll ballot, I'm casting a vote for 'Umbrella' in the singles department.
He's That Tough on music too (read: why the diss on Torture Garden dude, that album is mega-awesome). Still, the thing to remember is that most of the time he's also right (i.e. Boxer, which is in no way near the level of Aliigator, sorry indie-rock dudes).
The Talk to Me capsule up there encapsulates every single thought I had about the film in a far more concise way than I could ever hope to write. I am jealous.
It's, like, the exact opposite of dry. Capote's writing style moves like fire and his ability for turning phrases is exemplary. Because it has the drive, character work and cold irony of great fiction, I had to stop every few pages and remind myself that this is, in fact, based in truth. It's a hell of a book.
Just wait 'till you get to the end. The last chapter is one of the most horrifying things I've ever read. That last paragraph before the brief epilogue is burned into my mind.
Hey bud. If you are thinking this about Cash Hey, you would probably hate all the other films of Michael Haneke in my opinion. The Continent That Is Seventh and The Video by Benny and Those Funny Games are all even more scholarly and rigorous than that film. Thanks bud.
I can think of few things more terrifying than Anthony Wong in The Untold Story. For the flipside of that, give a look-see to his loopy, hammy sneering in Ebola Syndrome.
About to sit down for Election 2 right now.
Having just completed the preceding installment, I feel pretty confident that I will never say the above phrase.
I think that's a bit unfair, since just about nothing is as memorable as Rihanna's big summer jam.

Re: the ending of No Country
The Coens weren't playing to any audience -- that ending is textbook McCarthy. They were merely being faithful, is all.

But no love for Chiwetel?
One could also argue that Lessons of Darkness on of the best films ever made, period. I would be willing to do that, if anyone would let me.
Honestly, part of me secretly enjoys the very idea of Uwe Boll. He's so completely nuts that I figure he might make a good movie by accident one day.
Indeed!
13? I'm pretty sure the full song clocks in at around 32 minutes...
one of only 2 albums this decade I've heard that I'd rate 8.0/10+
Ah, but if "Cassandra Gemini" had been released as a stand-alone EP, that'd be a solid 9. At least by my standards.
