you rock dude! (or dudette!) seriously, ive been looking for a more definitive explanation of "trance" as a genre for some time now. :-) ive also been looking for some recommendations for compilations (or single-artist cds) that i could nab. [bt's R&R is one of the few trance albums i have] so if you have any recommendations for me (or anyone else on listology), please share!
thanks,
o.d.
i recently heard his cover of soundgarden's "rusty cage." really, really well done.
...and if you by chance have his cover of NIN's "hurt" *please* send it to me (gte145i@hotmail.com). everyone on kazaa mislabels some other rendition of hurt. (doh.)
i agree, both those tarantino movies' soundtracks rocked. and, in keeping with quentin, natural born killers' soundtrack was pretty good also. (i think trent reznor produced it, actually.)
...do you mean soundtrack as in collection of music by random artists, or the movie's score done by a composer? i can never tell, and people never seem to specify.
if it's the collection of songs youre after, my vote(s) would go to batman returns, donnie darko, pulp fiction, natural born killers, and o brother where art thou.
if you're talking movie scores... jurassic park and star wars (john williams), crimson tide (hans zimmer), batman (danny elfman), conan the destroyer (basil poledoris), american beauty and shawshank redemption (thomas newman), toy story (randy newman)
...and ill throw in the dust brother's work on fight club for good measure. not spectacular, but i guess it fit the movie well enough for me to like it.
