What you have both said about Deliverance is all well and good, but what's so wrong about not wanting to see a movie again because of a rape scene? Some of us would rather not be walking around with such imagery in our heads. Does that make us weak, or unable to face the reality of the brutality of rape? I don't necessarily think so.
I would have to add "Running to Stand Still," off of the Joshua Tree album (which I've been known to listen to 3 or 4 times in a row). And I'd also add the last two songs on Pop, "Please" and "Wake Up Dead Man."
If you liked Poor Old Lu, you should check out another of my favorite bands, The World Inside. Jesse Sprinkle, the drummer from POL went on to form this band and leads vocals and guitar this time out. Their CD is entitled Roobrik, and you can listen to a couple tunes at CDNow. Or, check out the band's Web site here.
I'm curious about the Passengers CD. Are you not counting that one because it's a soundtrack compilation? It has some great tunes on it. IMHO, it deserves at least an 8.
I liked that it was filmed in black and white, and thought the film was stylistically wonderful. In some small ways it reminded me of Eraserhead, which was crazy to flash back to. And I liked the theory behind the film: that patterns exist everywhere, and if you get too engrossed in the search for patterns, you're likely to snap.
I've changed this list around a little, and now I'm afraid this comment isn't terribly relevent to this list. Check out my other 2 new comedy lists: Funny Ha-Ha films, and Funny Peculiar films.
how's the sweet hereafter soundtrack? i remember liking the music, but it doesn't stick out in my mind like some soundtracks do. i also hove bad luck with soundtracks, so if you think the whole cd is worth while, i'll check it out. thanks!
so far i only have one to offer...
1. Champagne Supernova by Oasis
Indeed the Everly Brothers really were brothers. Thanks Jim!

U2's "Some Days Are Better Than Others" off Zooropa. At the end, Bono goes off on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.... jag. Would that count?
If I'm not mistaken, number seven is Lauren Hill's Lost Ones from The Miseducation CD.

I think that #25 is Get What You Give by the New Radicals. I'm not positive that the first line is in that song, so this is just a shot in the dark.
Thanks! These are great books that have changed me in some way. I'm a notoriously bad typist, and therefore a bad speller, so thanks for the heads up!

Wow! Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have to check a few of these out, and I'll let you know what I think. :-)
