Yeah! This is an adequate list and we could probably throw more on there. I only disagree w/ one entry...Toadies, and I'll tell you why. I for one know that Possum Kingdom is an all-out jam and Tyler, besides being a Pixies rip-off, is alright too...the rest of that disc sucks. But they have the chops to be a great band if they just write some decent tunes. Anyway, good list.
He was also really good in that flick with DiCaprio...This Boy's Life I think it is called. Of course, all the movies listed above are in a different world than TBL, but a good performance and decent film. As I recall, he plays a real bastard. Didn't know if you had seen it.
Blackie, I think you missed the point. The film was not pointing her out to be a genius. It was merely pointing out her will to survive and her determination given the hand she had been dealt. All you needed to know about her was presented. Sure the movie could have gone more into her past life, but that would be an entirely seperate film. I thought at times she was obnoxious and her unruly behavior was misplaced, but I guess that was her personality. I give EB ***. All in all a well made film and finely acted. Of course you now, this is just my opinion...
My vote goes to Holly simply for the contributions he made to modern music. Then would be Lennon, then Hendrix, then Cobain, and the rest I consider fillers(not taking anything away from their respective genius). But as far as changing, innovating, and contributing to modern Rock-n-Roll, the Texan from Lubbock gets my vote. Cheers!
Why would you be ashamed??? Anyway, to answer your question...no, but that's a good guess.
righty-o brother.
