As I have no chance in ever winning this I will be content once again to vie for last place while still trying to beat my previous year's total. I was able to watch one more in 2007 then 2006 but wasn't able to hold on to the coveted last place position. Maybe this year I will reclaim it. My list is here.
I obviously wasn't able to get Deadwood season three from my sister as planned, she had already lent it to someone else! Now she has gone away until the middle of September, but I suspect I will get it after she returns.
I should I will be able to borrow S3 from my sister before the end of the week. Possibly even as early as tonight. I suspect it will be at least as good as the previous two.
My biggest problem with the Grimm's tales is that a large proportion really aren't that good. There are a few that are good and I find it quite interesting how this part from that story and that part of this story find there way into the same modern movie or show. But when it comes down to it I find them more of a curiosity that I keep going back to rather then a good page turner. One day I hope to finish them all.
Well I successfully managed to come in last place last year (though it was much closer then I would have guessed). I will try to lose it all again this year. My list
I have never really thought about the difference a translator would make to a novel, but I suppose each translator would impress a bit of there own opinions and ideas on the work. As it happens I already have two other novels by Dostoyevsky (both translated by David Magarshack) but if (when) I go looking for more Russian literature I will try to keep Mr Pevear in mind. Have you read many different translations of the same novels?
I seem to be able to edit this article. I assume this is a bug. I checked a couple of other lists and on old lists I don't see the edit button but the recently edited ones appear to have it.

Nethack, as long as you don't require fancy graphics, is hands down the best free game I have ever played.
