I don't cry over songs much, but every now-n-then I'll break down if the right song hits me in the middle of a big mood. Here are a few that have done that over the years.
- You Never Gave Up On Me. (Crystal Gayle)
- The Wind Beneath My Wings (Bette Midler)
-- note: Can't stand the song, but it does remind me of a dear departed friend whenever I hear it.
- Fire and Rain (James Taylor)
- Why Don't We Get Drunk...(Jimmy Buffett) (Just Kidding)
Totally cool lyric choices from some of my favorite albums and artists. Let's see if I can fill in some of the blanks.
#2 is Lipstick Vogue by Elvis Costello from This Year's Model.
#5 is Jerusalem by Dan Bern. (Kudos to a curious coworker for knowing this one).
#23 is Sign O' The Times by Prince from Sign O' The Times.
#25 is Higher Than the Sun by Primal Scream from Screamadelica.
#31 is I'd Like That by XTC from Apple Venus (v1).
#34 is John the Baptist by the Afghan Whigs from 1965.
#35 is Burning of the Midnight Lamp by Hendrix from Electric Ladyland.
#36 is Astral Weeks by Van Morrison from Astral Weeks.
#39 is Weather With You by Crowded House from Woodface.
#42 is I'm Gonna Set My Foot Down by Buddy Holly. Not a clue what album it's from. (God bless my annoying college roommate for quoting this line all of the time).
#47 is Fool's Gold by The Stone Roses from Turns into Stone. (Brain bleeding after remembering this one).
That is all. I need to rest for the next week to recover.
I'd nominate Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" for this list. I don't crank the radio often, but I can't help but turn it up loud when that song comes on.

I think #16 is supposed to be "On and On" by Stephen Bishop.
#11 is, of course, "And When I Die" by Blood, Sweat, and Tears.
#25 is "The Story in Your Eyes" by The Moody Blues.
Trust me on this. You've all heard tons of these songs. Keep trying at it.

Definitely a harder set of remaining quotes than the first list. Only one I've got is #12.
Tokyo Storm Warning; Elvis Costello.
Thanks!
I'm clueless on the rest of these, though.
#48 sounds familiar, but I can't place it.
I'm new to this. What do the (G:) and (S:) designators stand for when LBangs notates the answers?
