Jim, I'd like to know what you thought of Antz. I've heard some critics say (who they were, I can't remember) that although A Bug's Life did better at the box office Antz was the better of the two. I thought A B L's characters were more endearing. Perhaps I feel this way thanks to my two year old nephew who watched the movie, oh about 15 times, and this helped me learn to love them.
This is really quite pitiful, considering I'm a Lit major, but I didn't make it through Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huck Finn. I got to chapter 15 and lost my way. I had no idea if I was coming or going, but I stopped. Luckily, I had seen the movie and new enough about the book to help me b.s. my way through the Lit exam.
I understand about the cover. The copy I read was from my college library and it didn't look so bad. When I decided to buy the book I waited until I found a "decent" looking cover. The copy I bought was published by Wings Books. But after you read the book you'll look at the cover and say 'oooohhhhhh.' It will all make sense.
The one thing I don't like about recommending books (being that I only recommend what I think is good) is the fear that the person won't like what they've read. And this tends to prick one's ego a bit.
First of all Jim, you put me to shame, and I call myself a future Lit major!! After seeing your lists and your posts I realize I'm in no capacity to teach this wonderful subject to the future of America. Second of all, have you read A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole? If I made a list I would put it under "Most Entertaining Books," right up there with Portnoy's Complaint.
LOL. Just one question, is Harrison Ford's nose really that crooked or is it just a scanning mishap?

Glad to see A Confederacy of Dunces.

I'm glad to see Crush by The Dave Matthews Band on your list, but what about Under the Table and Dreaming or Before These Crowded Streets?
