I just got tix to the sold out Buffalo show in the mail today! But not the 5th row unfortunately--that pair went for $316 and I couldn't justify much more than $100 each.
But I'm super-excited to see Bowie. It's just a couple days after my birthday too so it's my present to myself. Woohoo!
So glad to see someone else appreciating Mary Fahl. She is best known for having been the lead singer of October Project, an amazing collaborative band who had two successful albums and were mysteriously booted from their label. A few members have come out with some solo stuff and now three original members have joined up to continue the new October Project but in my opinion it just isn't the same without Mary's voice. If you like this album, I truly believe you'd love the first two October Project albums. Enjoy!
you folks may already have heard this but Freaks and Geeks is actually being released on DVD!! thanks again to all who signed the petition--now we can enjoy the series (and new special features) for always. woohoo!
i did just want to say that *of* the Woody Allen flicks i've seen, the only one i appreciated was "Sleeper." not sure if that's says anything.
i haven't yet seen Annie Hall--maybe that would help me get a grip on him. sometimes it's hard to decide whether i don't like something or just don't get it--i always want to be open minded...
Jim, I just wanted to thank you publicly for pulling this together. I think it was a great success--especially managing to get them all exchanged before christmas!
i appreciated the bonus mix and a special thanks to the person behind "i can't stand what you do but i'm in love with your eyes." highly entertaining!
here are my guesses:
4 - supernova by oasis
5 - loser by beck
7 - pretty fly for a white guy by offspring
8 - just by radiohead
9 - helter skelter (i know it by siouxsie and the banshees but i think it was originally the beatles?)
13 - girls just wanna have fun by cyndi lauper
wow i was right on. thanks so much for that link, jim--i loved the story and amelia's quote was priceless. (and did i mention i adore the name "amelia"? it reminds me of jeunet's amelie, the amelia bedelia books i loved as a child, and the time i dressed up as amelia earhart for halloween at age 7.)
and i'm sold on rodriguez. i'll let you know when i'm caught up!
this may not be helpful but in the past when this has happened to me, i'm 99.9% sure i previewed it and didn't remember to *post* it... it's rather easy to move on to something else and feel like you knew you'd seen the complete version. could just be me, but i thought i'd add my two cents.
but i also wanted to let you know--i finally got myself a decent (no, great!) job, starting on tuesday, and within a month or two i expect to be sponsoring listology and buying some gear!
1) but gravity always wins (Radiohead)
16) ate all your razors while pulling on waiters (Bowie)

I second (or third or fourth, whatever it is) the tag idea.

Yay!! I got my mix in the mail--actually I got two. Was I just lucky, Jim or was there an error in the exchange?
Let me know if you need me to send one back... (she says, reluctantly.) Thanks again for all your efforts!

yeah, i liked baby stewie and the dog, brian, was amusing but i didn't think the rest of the family was that endearing... not bad though.
actually, you'll find "naked" on this list. but i will admit there was some memorable dialogue--just not enough to redeem it for me.
