the message of an inconvenient truth was an important one, definitely, but i have seen good documentaries and this was not one. as you said, the clips about his life were kind of random, and in most cases i felt they were almost completely disconnected from the rest of the movie. and, i mean, i understand that his slide show was, for a long time, the only way he could talk about an issue that's really important to him, but c'mon. couldn't they have jazzed it up a little bit for the big screen? i really felt like the mediocrity of the movie distracted me from the overall message.
Yeah, I was most disappointed with the documentary category. Both Grizzly Man and Mad Hot Ballroom were better than March of the Penguins (the only 3 documentaries I saw this year). Of course, MotP is cute, easily accesible, and has Morgan Freeman as the voice of the penguin...
I was sad that The Squid and the Whale didn't get recognition. I liked it more than almost any other movie I've seen this year.
I've never seen a movie while I was there, so I don't know about a theater. The boardwalk is trashy (you'll realize that as soon as you see the stores with Confederate flag merchandise), and the beach can get really crowded.
If you need a day off from all of that, I recommend a day trip to Assateague Island. It's really close, and it's so pretty there. It wasn't crowded at all when I went. The girls might be excited by driving through the island, searching for the wild horses, and there are nice areas for a picnic. There's also a beach. It's a national park, so it's not very touristy.
I'm taking one class this summer, and it has been the best experience I've had with a college class so far. I have time to do all of the readings--like, really read, not just skim--and I'm not stressing about having enough time to go to class and finish a paper and maybe find time to sleep for 4 or 5 hours. I wish I could always focus this much time and attention to one class, but it's just not possible when I'm taking 4 other classes.

Oh yeah, I seem to remember that being on one of lbangs' lists, or in response to one of lbangs' comments.
That did the trick! Thanks, Jim.
Nope, I didn't get one last night, either.
I haven't been getting the Listology Updated Content email the past few days. Could that be related to this, or is it maybe just my email?
Oops, I just saw that this is already on your list of things to do!
Well, consider this feedback on your suggestion, rather than a new idea...

And make sure you have a crab feast!

i'd be interested in watching, but you wouldn't have to mail it and i could give it back if someone else wanted to watch it.
and of course this was the week i tried to prove to my sister that the show is funny...
i don't think she'll ever watch it again.
Listology High School would be an excellent movie or tv show...
