Great to see Led Zep on top! Definitely my fav band too. Not sure if I'd have any of the others in there though. I'd have the stones, the who, the beatles, pink floyd, the band and maybe the doors.
Your right, Gimme Some Truth would probably be better as a protest song. As for The Who song, I guess it depends what you mean as a 'protest song', but it would qualify for me.
Thanks for your replies, but I actually meant the I have replied to your replies on my lists! (If that makes any sense at all)!
How about Stevie Wonder's Don't drive drunk, Lennon's Power to the people or the Who's Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere?
By the way, I've replied to your posts on my lists - please read!
The Madcap laughs is a great album, and I'd think that you would really like it. Best tracks are Terrapin, Dark Globe and Octupus. You should get the Syd Barret box set - Crazy Diamond, which contains all of his three officialy released albums (no vegetable man or scream thy last scream, unfortunately, as these are only available on bootleg), and they are all good.
Just out of interest, why have you given Bob Dylan's greatest hits **1/2 when it has some of the greatest songs ever written on it, i.e. Like A Rolling Stone, Just Like A Woman, Blowin' In The Wind, The Times They Are A-Changin, Mr Tambourine Man...shall I go on?
I admire all of your lists though, and have enjoyed reading them - check out some of mine.
I am surprised that both Time out of mind and Street legal don't have at least an 8 rating (especially TOOM). Even though an album can't become an instant classic overnight, most people seem to agree that it is a very strong album, and even one of his best (according to Elvis Costello), so I feel that 7 is a liitle bit low for such a good album.

Not too dissimilar from mine I see, no Led Zeppelin though. How about The Clash and The Jam?

How about Van Morrison's Crazy Love or Bob Dylan's You're a big girl now?
