0016: The 50 Best Artists Working

The Strokes are certainly a much better band than the Fiery 'hack' Furnaces. For God's Sake AAA, The New Pornographers? The Streets... dear God I need a drink. The strokes are the modern day ramones...the fiery furnaces are the modern day C&C music factory...the new pornographers on here shocks me...I'm going for that drink now.

I'm Going To See Fahrenheit 9/11 Tonight, Whats it Like?

Ugghhh, its so filled with half truths to start. Its actually fairly funny, but when Moore tries to paint the wars in Afghan. & Iraq as grabs for oil he loses me.

The World's 65 (!) Greatest Beings(SUGGESTIONS REALLY NEEDED!!!)- Changed and updated!

you left boggles next to alexander the great btw =), which was my fault, b/c I think he's the greatest human being to ever lived based on his accomplishments and based on when he lived etc., it boggles the mind that one man so young could conquer so much land so fast and make the world greek, f**king amazing really.
Now for the Evil Greatest Beings that have ever lived
-Adolf Hitler (of course)
-Joseph Stalin

2002: Top 20 Albums

I keep meaning to pick up Kill the Moonlight, what's it like, is it comparable to any of the other stuff on there.

Bright Eyes, Hot Hot Heat, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of The Dead all don't do anything for me, in fact I really don't get why they're so popular, all three of them are beloved by the indie rock community but Bright Eyes is by far the most detestable of the three.

Favorite Songs by R.E.M.

Awesome, another REM fan that loves Pretty Persuasion and Rockville as much as I do, we are quite a rare breed you know, most REM fans only adhere to songs of Murmur

0022: Modest Mouse Albums Ranked

Hmmm...Modest Mouse is probably the biggest band that influenced my musical tastes in college. The Moon and Antarctica has indeed reached hallowed status these days as one of the best albums of the 90's (yeah it came out in 2000 which is still the 90's). But as time has gone by I look back on that album at the time I stumbled onto and it makes me very misty eyed. The album is a five star album and very dear to me, not just b/c of the music on it, but with what I associate with that music.

My List
-The Moon and Antarctica
-Building Nothing Out of Something
-The Lonesome Crowded West (too raw and punkish)
-This is A Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About
-Good News for People Who Love Bad News

P.S.-this band is starting to remind me of R.E.M. in terms of their progression as a band anyone else agree.
