This list was not very extensively researched before posting. I immediately thought of a much played character; Tarzan, played by Johnny Weismuller 12 times. Weismuller also played the character "Jungle Jim" in movies 13 times, not including the TV series. Buster Crabbe of Tarzan fame played a character named Billy Carson 23 times in westerns, as well as Billy The Kid 13 times. I can think off the top of my head also of at least 1 omission. John Wayne as "Rooster Cogburn" in at least 2 movies.
