I find it a little disturbing that there have been so many of these lists lately...it's that much of a stretch that an amazing movie will be released in the next month and a half?
Since Criterion's basis is "important classic and contemporary films", quality really doesn't have to enter into the mix. Armageddon could be deemed "important" as a prime example of a blockbuster.
And while I see where the writer's coming from in his comments about Man Bites Dog, I do believe it's of higher quality despite the subject matter.
I don't agree with a single part of this list. And I would elaborate, but there's nothing to elaborate on. It's everything about it that I don't agree with; every single placement.
