The greatest trance anthem is undoubtedly Adagio for Strings, its progression and the buildup shines with originality and pure bliss. Tiesto is definitely the Flying Dutchman of modern music and one of the best figures in music's history alongside of Franz Schubert and John Lennon.
First I would like to say that as much as I loved your top400 trance tracks, I don't agree with this one.
Second of all, I really don't know which are the criteria that you were supposed to follow in order to rank those albums. As far as I know, Northern Exposure is a MIX CD, being pretty impossible to rank it higher than, let's say, a time-defining album such as Kid A or Autobahn. Even Music for airports isn't Eno's best electronic album, it's pretty dull and overrated. My oppinion is that you should try Eno's "After The Heat"[1978] or the beautiful, majestic "Before And After The Science" [1978]. As for Bjork, "Debut"[1993], "Post"[1995], and even her earlier albums released as The Sugarcubes
In terms of importance, Autobahn and other revolutionary albums that created a new genre (like Massive Attack's one) should definitely be ranked higher.
In terms of quality, let's just say that Kid A, Loveless, Endtroducing, Music Has The Right To Children, Bricolage and maybe Faust/Autobahn/Amnesiac are to be considered one of the finest and most beautiful pieces of music ever written. You should also try Air France - No Way Down [2008]{balearic, i guess}, Girl Talk - Feed The Animals [2008]{mashup}, even Radiohead - In Rainbows [2007] / Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun[1999]/() [2002] if those can be counted as electronic albums. Take those as my recommendation.
The last, but not the least, it's a risky decision to make such a top as EDM being far mor eclectic than, let's just say, rock or jazz. As much as I hate him (or just his fans) isn't even Michael Jackson's Thriller ranked as one piece of good electronic music?
Beatles For Sale is the most underrated Beatles album. It's better than it seems to be. It's obviously better than Please Please Me and With The Beatles. A Hard Day's Night is ok, but i do not think it deserves the same rating as Revolver or Abbey Road...a ****1/2 would have been better. But the worst thing I see is about Magical Mystery Tour, that's a flawless album full or masterpieces such as I Am The Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever, All You Need Is Love, Penny Lane etc. That's a 5* album, even better than Sgt. Pepper's. Also Let It Be deserved at least 4*. The rest I agree with.
I really don't know if you've listened to this, but you should definitely give it a try:
Slyder - Jetscream [2001] [progressive trance] - progressive as it is never seen today
The sound of a spaceship propelling in space, just as trance should sound like. I think of it as a lost treasure.
I'm still looking for fresh tunes (and not minimal/neo trance things), I've mainly listened to all of the potential good tracks from 2008 and 2009, still I haven't found any worth listening more than 10 times...unfortunately. The last good track is from 2007, in fact there are more, but I'm really not sure they will fit the all-time top400 trance tracks.
And congrats about the new order, that's more like it. In fact, excepting Papua New Guinea (one track that I really hate it - although its importance in trance music is quite relevant), the first 8 tracks are pure history. And the rise of Age of Love has really put a smile on my face, my top5 would be something like: 1-Age of Love, 2-Cafe del Mar, 3-Xpander, 4/5-Love Stimulation/Born Slippy...that's very close to what you've shown here.
I sense Digeridoo is going down. What's the reason? I've read it was #1 a few months/years ago.
Sasha has always produced quality music, and this one isn't making an exception. But to be honest, he isn't producing trance from a very long time. As Coma, Mongoose, Couleurs Remix aren't trance at all, so is this.
Seems that you were wrong :D
Ok, as for the moment you should be definitely listening to Lady Gaga's new album.
If you're Romanian, I do understand your frustration.
No, I am perfectly serious...ROFL.
I can't believe you're saying this. Of course I am being sarcastic =)
Yeah, Matthias Paul is also good. And Dutch, too.

My head aches me and my eyes are bleeding...
Speaking of the attention:
Chicane - Salt Water [1999] [epic trance/ibiza trance]
You must be mad.
Hello there again, darktremor.

Magical Mystery Tour is 1967 :)
progressive house :)
it's house all the way

M83 – Couleurs (Progressive Trance)
I wouldn't call that trance :)
Sasha has always produced quality music, and this one isn't making an exception. But to be honest, he isn't producing trance from a very long time. As Coma, Mongoose, Couleurs Remix aren't trance at all, so is this.
It's more progressive house.
I would have put Flight 643 on that list. Places 5-10. Still, Suburban Train is my all-time Tiesto fav, and one of my all-time trance fav.
Nice top btw, very nice. Still, Gouryella is more Ferry than Tiesto (as it can be seen in System F).
2003 I guess
