When I was using bittorrent, I also had a lot of problems finding some of these albums. You really should try soulseek. I've never failed to find something eventually on there.
I would agree with both Deep Waters and Driver UFO as excellent suggestions, especially Deep Waters. Truly a masterpiece, probably one of my top 20-40 songs ever.
I know what your saying man. I keep hoping that there will be another outburst of creativity, like in the late 60s, or the new wave, or the early to mid 90s. It just seems that things have been getting worse and worse since the late 90s.
Yea, I was just wondering because if you did it would be a lot easier to find some of the stuff on and off this list. Especially classical, which is really a bitch to find on the internet while knowing what kind of recording you're getting.
I see you've upgraded The Downward Spiral to masterpiece status. I've also enjoyed that album a lot recently, albeit it was my first time with it. What made you decide to move it up?
Well 2 should really be an 8, I was just adding stuff real quick when I made the list. I'm rating it on the assumption that the last track is only about 5-10 minutes long, because as it is, it is way to long. I've never heard any LaMonte Young, so I can't really say how its similar to that. I think whats great about it is how Earth create such a dark and oppressive atmosphere, how it moves from a super slow groove in the first track, until finally by the end it is just a sustained drone.
Also, after listening to The Downward Spiral today, one thought went through my mind. How the hell did this thing go quadruple platinum?
I don't really know yet. I still haven't really found the time to really get into jazz, but I would really rather have everything in one list.
Also, how do you do all those changes of fonts and spaces and graphics and everything? I can't figure out how to do anything other than one line after another, same font, no spaces or anything. I can't even get italics to work.
Well what I was saying is that it's a movement that is gathering steam and may soon become a major force. As of now, your right in that it is incredibly obscure, which leads me to think that when these programs become more widespread and cheaper these works will become easier to find.
Oh yea and by the way, I just listened to Transcontinental Conspiracy yesterday. Woweird.
I think as sound creation programs become cheaper and more user friendly, we may see an entirely new genre of music based on an infinite number of sounds/samples/noises made by computers.
Luke, what do you think of Fare Forward Voyagers? I see it's not on here at all, is that because you really don't care for it or because you don't have it?

For whatever it's worth, Scaruffi seems to think you already have done some serious criticism.

Nice list! I'm excited to see how this all ends up.
BTW, do you have soulseek?

Wow.
I've never seen pitchfork stoop that low before.

Thanks man. I shouldn't have forgotten that one.
My vote goes for David Thomas, with Mark Stewart coming in a close second.
