Hah! Yes, this is kind of like a bucket list, but more short term. I've really had fun doing these things and highly recommend making your own list if you like lists! :)
That's such a hard question. I like different things for different reasons, but I guess I would say I especially loved Middlesex, White Teeth, A Fine Balance, Cloud Atlas, and The Time Traveler's Wife.

I don't own 1001 Books, but I have thumbed through it. It's a pretty cool book.

The Kite Runner is very good, but very sad. The story is fast-paced and intriguing. I have never heard of anyone who didn't like it.
