350 Best of the Best Trance Songs

I'm reluctant to do it... because I've tried this before. I recorded a song off of a dvd's end credits using a microphone, and because it was on a television set, I got an unbelievable buzzing noise (the white noise kind of thing, the microphone amplified it.) Perhaps there's a way to edit that out of the track on the computer, but I haven't come across it yet.

That, AND it would end up with a TERRIBLE stereo effect... I just can't bring myself to let my music sound so... I don't know... it would take the entire trippy experience out of it. I mean that with all due respect to you, because it still was a wonderful idea, and in most cases I'd resort to it. And I don't think it's a very corny one at all.

CHILL OUT!!!: 200 Enchanting Downbeat Songs.

I listened to the sample.

No doubt about it, that's "Weather Storm." But it is NOT the original version. They've taken it to epic extremes in the sample you linked for me. Perhaps the version I have is a different version and that's the original. I'm not sure. I got the version I have now years ago on Pure Moods: Celestial Legend, and it didn't mention that it was a special version or anything (to tell the truth, I found the song quite bland). I guess I'm just gonna have to download every version I find of this song. :-/

WE'RE GETTING CLOSER THOUGH...

Top 100 Electronic Music (including trance, house, techno, ambient, IDM, jungle, goa, avante-garde, indie electronic, etc.) Albums of All Time

"BT doesn't go higher, because I find his music very technically precise, but often emotionless."

Darktremor, my friend, I recently bought BT's "This Binary Universe." You must put this on your "To listen to" list. I'm not pushing you to do it... just stressing... slightly. Hahaha. Perhaps a bit emotionlessless.

CHILL OUT!!!: 200 Enchanting Downbeat Songs.

Okay so at the moment I'm downloaded several upon several of these, and I thank you for the HUGE list to check out.

But I must admit I'm still debating with myself on adding the ballad versions of DJ Sammy/DHT/Cascada... it just annoys me that they take classics and turn them upside down...

And I'm also debating whether or not to add ATB's "No Fate." It really IS a fabulous chill out version, but not only is it a remake of Zyon's trance classic, but it sounds extremely similar to the Struggle Continues mix of Zyon's "No Fate." Still undecided... but I'm definitely adding the Zyon version.

BT's "Somnambulist" is a catchy tune (when I first heard it years ago I bought his "Emotional Technology" album right away, recommended if you like that song, the whole cd follows the same atmosphere), but its too poppy and danceable to me at the same time. I can't sit down and chill to this song as easily as I can the others.

Are you sure Massive Attack's "Craig Armstrong" is a real song? Craig Armstrong is another downbeat artist... did you download this song?

But still, I strongly endorse your chill out music tastes, so I'm downloaded all of the just the same :] Thanx!

Before I viewed your list I knew a few well known tracks, but I got into artists such as Cosmosis, Doof, Transwave, and Cydonia off your list. I actually have alot more on my computer I have yet to listen to enough times to add onto the list, so the current collection of Goa trance songs on the list might seem random.

I have yet to acquire some Etnica, I had interest in getting some of their music as well.

Did you purchase Fruity Loops 4.5? Or did you download it? Or both?

Oh, no problem! This list has been on here for a while, but I'm glad people are finally looking up on it! Seriously, if you have any suggestions, I'll look up on them!

I enjoy downbeat just as much as I do trance. :)

No, 2000 BPM would be more like the sample on Ishkur's guide to Electronic Music titled "DJ PW - Push the Funk."

That's like... an unnecessary speed...

Thank you for your lovely compliments!

As for your suggestion, I agree completely that it should be on this list! It's beautiful! It starts out seemingly enough like a Bjork-esque piece, then shifts itself into a complete Neo Trance gem- I love it. Thank you for that wonderful suggestion! :]

I only WISH I would have composed music with the same program you used. I took a sheepish route, and played the "MTV Music Generator 2" game for Playstation 2. I actually like the results I came up with, completely destroying the sample riffs the game offered me and starting from the scratch of scratch. But they're not as edgy, and are more repetitive than your songs. The only thing is, I hate that songs get too repetitive as well, so they're only looped to a certain extent of interest, resulting in my songs ranging from 2-6 minutes, shorter than the average trance song.

I wouldn't really call my results trance either... I went for a trance feel, but the result came back with a progressive house feel.

The game instructions along with many online reviews have reported that this game lacks the ability to link the Playstation 2 to your computer to convert your songs to mp3s, but there is always a way, ALWAYS. I found some directions on a forum that I'm trying to follow... but they're pretty complicating. I've just recently acquired the software to convert anything into an mp3, all I need now is the proper equipment to connect my PS2 to my laptop. I WILL GET THIS FIGURED OUT!!!!

BUT- if anyone can lend me any help on this matter I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! OR- if anyone knows anyone that can lend me any help on this matter I would GREATLY APPRECIATE THAT! Such as some alternate way to do it... perhaps something simpler... or something more complicating but I can actually understand... because the instructions I found were very... well... perhaps I just have a basic mind...

So I downloaded these, and they're definitely experimental, but they don't suck at all. I've heard MUCH worse, taking in the fact that there's nothing wrong with these compositions in the slightest.

You keep listeners guessing, and your rhythms are very out of the ordinary. You'd be a very good techno artist in my opinion. But I also am very shallow-minded when it comes to techno music, and don't have a single clue as to what it really consists of.

I have my own music I'm trying to post onto the internet as well that I've composed... but haven't quite figured out how to yet...

But I like your style, very much so. :)

Thanx for the info on mp3skyline- I'll definitely check that place out! And I'm really glad you're a fan of Sasha's "Wavy Gravy," it's definitely worth the attention it receives!

As for Armin Van Buuren's "Communication," I listened to it, and added it, and liked it, but it's just another anthem piece, there's nothing too extravagant in that area. But I added it none the less because it's a better one. Thank you for your suggestion!

Homosexuality in Films

Would you consider Ma Vie En Rose (My Life In Pink) (France, 1997) to be too much of a homophobic standpoint to insert into the list?
