There's one in Weekend while a guy practices on the piano and discusses Mozart.
Also, I think there's one near the beginning of Taxi Driver when Travis is hired and is looking around the garage. I have to doublecheck to make sure it's a complete 360.
Poor taste, eh? I suppose it is. I've never heard that complaint before. I did intend to provide more information once I filled in the gaps, though I don't believe a list this clinical needs to have socially redeeming value.
I don't see any difference between a time-constrained list and a medium-constrained one. Mediums are even more fluid and arbitrary than years. Time at least changes who sees what and what impact it has, whereas whether a work is music or scrimshaw is a syntax. And some mediums are leaner than others; because not as many people practice scrimshaw, even though it's just as viable.
Scaruffi's review is pretty accurate as far as I can tell, not being a listener of drum music. I bought it because Toby's credited on my beloved Demons Dance Alone. I was hesitant because naming yourself after a Fellini film is a little pretentious, but the album is exciting/fun.
I've actually heard most all of his early stuff several times because my dad is a big Dylan fan. That doesn't necessarily close the door; I heard the Beatles all my life before I discovered them like the proverbial girl next door.
Blonde on Blonde is coming in the mail and I'll let you know when I change my mind about him.
I've been listening to Aeroplane more and more. It's just as powerful as you say and I'm glad you told me to get it. I've just ordered Avery Island.
On a strictly personal note, I haven't had much experience with the emotions Aeroplane expresses and it took some time for me to acclimatize. Have you heard the Residents' Demons Dance Alone yet? That hit me instantly with same kind of force though, strangely, a lot of people don't even like it.
You must get me a copy of Wavelength. Please, I'll do anything you ask of me.

High five re: Mahler #1
Representing 9/7
I did hear about Proof. Completely slipped my mind. Reminder appreciated.
Added, thanks. I almost watched that movie recently because I mistook it for Serenity.

Lucked out and found it on eBay. Nine bucks, like new.
I thought it was going to be a difficult find.

Yeah, I'm fine with Hendrix. If the places had been switched I might have asked you to cancel my Residents vote and give me Jimi.
btw, I'm cloning this as well
Can you tell me where you saw Jeanne Dielman? I've been trying to catch it for ages.
