What'd you think of Koba the Dread? I found it a strange book - reading reviews, I expected to dislike the conclusion, but in context it was really moving.
Out of the ones on this list, I recommend Scott Walker's Drift and Joy Division's Closer most, both are great albums (though I think Walker's Tilt is a little more accessible maybe). If you're looking for something lighter, though, that Blonde Redhead album is really nice.
Lunar Landscapes and Blood Oranges are neat, I like the former a little more - a strangely bland, almost lobotomized style, from what I remember of it. I still need to look at Second Skin sometime.
This is a great list! I'm so happy to see someone else who likes The Lime Twig - that's my all-time favorite novel and I know of almost no one else who's ever read it. There are some intriguing titles here I need to check out.
Well, I was thinking more the stuff he did with the Replacements, for whom he was the lyricist and singer before he started his solo career. Check out songs of theirs like "Left of the Dial", "Here Comes a Regular", "Bastards of Young", "I'll Be You", "Can't Hardly Wait". At the very least I'd say he's more deserving than someone like Conor Oberst - I mean, Westerberg was pretty much one of the main prototypes for heartfelt indie rock of this sort.
Try Jonathan Rosenbaum's Essential Cinema. Really well-written, and it ends with a sort of "personal canon" listing of 1,000 movies that Rosenbaum likes.
the Tulse Luper movies are available on Surrealmoviez. (Can't vouch for quality though.)

Added you back.

I'm resisting buying Against the Day in hardcover (so unwieldy!) but I may eventually fall prey regardless.
This looks like a fascinating list! Is the complete list available anywhere on the internet, do you know?
I'm gonna suggest: Paul Westerberg?
