I'm somewhat surprised by your high rating on L'Intrus. Yes Denis composes some amazing images and Agnes Godard is one of the best cinematographers working today, but WTF.
Someone recently said the following to me, which I thought was entirely on the money: "Every time I woke up during The Intruder I saw something magnificent"
I would like to join the rest of y'all by extending one middle digit at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the other middle digit at Paul Haggis.
On another note, why no love for Lenny? I seriously adore that movie.
I actually haven't seen Edge Of The World or Contraband. Red Shoes though, thats the shit. Also we can't forget A Matter Of Life And Death or The Small Back Room.
I'm with you about musicals, although if someone asked I would probably say that Singin is a movie I admire more than I like, which for me is code for "I get what this person is doing, and they do it very well and have a great deal of talent, its just not my thing." Others in this class - Prince, many rappers, Godard, etc. That said American In Paris is better than Singin.
Is this the Logan Theatre on Milwaukee in Chicago?
No, 3:30! Just missed you apparently

Where is the Kurosawa. Where.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a summary posting on the cineblog sometime soong.
Dude keep punching through those Powells, the best is yet to come.

Can we please add Werner Herzog for Grizzly Man and Apichatpong Weerasethakul for Tropical Malady? ty
I am pathetic, I vow to at least break freakin 100 in 2006
Your TM dvd was FULL FRAME??? Jesus no wonder you didn't like it. Also yes it does in fact open up immensely on a second viewing.
Double Ditto that with Tropical Malady
I just don't see how The Red Shoes could possibly be anywhere near as good on the small screen. If you had seen it at SAM I bet it goes up 15 points.
