Toxic is a really good single. I believe britney has nothing to do with the making of her own music. The production on that song is really interesting.
I totally agree with your selection of Boards of Canada. Are you into electronic music much? I like quite a bit of it and there are a people I will always buy records from. I wondered what you thought of Jason Forrest, who produces really interesting glitch pop with unexpected sampling and Prefuse 73 is another current favorite of mine. Check em out if you haven't already. I'm working on a list of my favorite electronic albums and artists right now, I'd be interested in your opinion.
I agree with most of your list, although I think Nashville skyline could deserve at least another half star. That unplugged album is so awful, I would have rated it lower.
ha, i truly hate two things you so appropriately mentioned, Jim morrison and the Doors, i don't think any mediocre band with an average song writer should ever achieve immortal icon status, though too many times, i.e. The Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews, etc. it happens.
I also hate Jon Stewart he can't say anything withoug snidely grinning
i'm a big fan of waterloo sunset also, i read recently the rolling stone review of the 500 greatests songs, i think it came in 42, that's just ridiculous
One thing I've noticed is you never mention Jean Luc Goddard. I was wondering what you thought of his work or what his best movie is, I have only seen a few, but I really liked "Contempt"
So how awsome is that ultramagnetic mc's album i've always wanted it.
My favorite album of the 70's Television Marquee Moon, my second, exile on main st. i agree with you there and i like your list
DC TALK PWNS ALL!!!!!!
write a hiaku or a rap song????????
1980-remain in light, nearly my only change to this very good list
Man I can't take that A.C. Newman album out of my player, I love it. If I were to make a top list of this year only, it might fill the first slot.
I agree.
I agree, A.C. Newman's solo stuff is fantastic, it might be my favorite album of the year.
