P.T. Anderson: There Will Be Blood (2007)
Joel Coen: Fargo (1996)
Stanley Kubrick: The Shining (1980)
David Lynch: Blue Velvet (1986)
Quentin Tarantino: Kill Bill (2003/04)
Hello, I don't know if you're still working on this, but, if so, don't forget Bruce Springsteen as one of the pivotal music stars of the 70s (and the 80s, and the 90s, and the 00s).
This list needs to be updated, as The Boss has, since 2003, made many more great contributions to the world of music, just to name Devils and Dust and Magic.
Intolerance
The Passion of Joan of Arc
City Lights
L'Atalante
It Happened One Night
The Lost Weekend
Umberto D.
Tokyo Story
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
Badlands
Russian Ark
As for Letters from Iwo Jima, as much as I enjoyed it, I wouldn't rate it any higher. It's an outstanding work, but by no means as excellent as Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby. I think.
Hah, I was also, subliminally at least, looking for you. :p
Well, lately, I don't get much around to watching films, but perhaps you could inspire me (via MSN, I mean) to watch some. :D
P.S.: And I'll come back to fwfr as soon as possible.
What Wes said. :-D
Really good ranking, although I wouldn´t quite agree. Personally, I´d give Tunnel of Love and The Ghost of Tom Joad much more credit. :-)
Thanks for the ratings! I will add and update as soon as possible, but as you probably noticed, I am hopelessly behind...
This seems like a really good solution.
By the way, you´re doing a great work on the site. Go on like that.

Hello, Jim. So Listology finally made it to the imdb front page? :p
Many many thanks. :)
Glad to see you agree on MASH.

"Here"? Where? In that gritty-gruesome land of yours where people can't drive properly and where the fog is the major export good? ;)

You better check your spelling for Master ScorSese!
