it's an eclectic collection--most of these are really well-known works, but there are a few in here that most people have never seen. it's not that i don't like non-famous paintings, i've just never seem them.

They're arranged in a roughly chronological order.

Hmm, I seem to have a tendancy toward seascapes: Les Regates, the Vettrianos (kind of), Breezing Up, October Day, Great Wave, Chateau des Pyrenees . . . well, it isn't actually a majority.

What a marvelous list! I don't know how long this has been up, but I'm only noticing it now that there's finally an "other" link in the "recent updates" box. I definitely have to keep making the non-entertainment content more accessible.

Yeah, I would love a way to see what other genres people have created. There's no real way to look except through the personal content pages.

This site has now replaced about half of the web site I used to have. Book lists, art lists . . .

I'll definitely think about improving that. Right now my inclination is to add a list of the custom genres the user has created next to their name in the member directory.

Yeah, but . . . I don't know about anyone else, but I never look at the member directory. I look at the recent updates list, and do searched for things, but that's about it.

Ah! Well in that case, this current version of Listology does show "other" content in the "recent updates" box (and has an "other" link so you can see more along those lines). It also includes posts made to "other" list in the "recent posts" page. Does that meet your needs? Just about the only thing "other" lists are excluded from is the Listology front page. The news on the front page just pulls in entertainment news, although I'm thinking about making that customizable by the user.

Well, yes, I can't really think of any other way to show the "other" content. I do wish that the Recenty Updatesd list could be expanded, though usually clicking on one of the categories is enough.

The next release will have an "all" link over there in addition to "other."

Yes, and I see you've already rolled it out.

:-) I aim to please.

I do look at the Member Directory, and cruise the My Content pages of the members.

WHAT a fantastic list. Worth coming back to the listology all by itself, what with the links you've included. It's like a little lesson in art history all by itself!

Thanks!

Well, thank you. In fact, I'm in the middle of creating thumbnails and posting them to my web page (just applied for a job in a museum, want to emphasize I'm an art lover).
