I am reading a book called Why Are Artists Poor?: The Exceptional Economy of the Arts, and it is about defining what art is, what is high or low, what is an artist, and why do artist's choose a "poor" lifestyle. Some may be rich, but the author talks about artists who struggle in the "real art" world, and who have to take second jobs and rely on subsidies from different places to survive....
