What I'm Listening to Today: 3/11/04

David Bowie - Black Tie White Noise - 8:45 A.M. - I've been listening to a lot of David Bowie lately, and I believe this is proof that it is not possible to tire of his music. With Black Tie White Noise it's not one of my favorites, but of course since it's Bowie, I like it. He experiments a little too much on this album with jazzy sounds. Since I'm not a jazz fan this doesn't appeal to me as much as the rest of his albums that I own.

Moroccan Spirit - This was the first time I had listened to this CD. Since I was at home I spent most of the CD dancing to the Middle Eastern rhthyms. (I should say I was "attempting" to belly dance.) It is superbly lush! Now I'm tempted to buy 1,001 Arabian Nights and start reading it. Moroccan Spirit is the smart CD for the Westerner. It takes tantalizing Moroccan sounds and combines them with our Westernized ethereal and synthesized sounds. It took only one listen to this CD to be promoted to my "Favorite CDs List."
