Top 10 Favorite Moments from Woody Allen’s ‘Annie Hall’
1. Alvie (Woody) and Annie are standing in the movie line, Alvie very annoyed with know-it-all filmwatcher behind him. Alvie pulls Marshall McCluhan into the shot and McCluhan responds to loudmouth filmgoer: I heard what you were saying just now. You know nothing of my work. You mean, my whole fallacy is wrong. How you ever got to teach a course in anything is totally amazing.
Alvie(to audience): Boy, if life were only like this!
2. Annie (Diane Keaton) and Alvie’s first alone scene discussing whether or not to ride with one another after tennis. Keaton was never better.
3. “I’m into leather.”
4. Alvie’s past wife: There's Henry Drucker. He has a Chair in History at Princeton. The short man is Hershel Kaminsky. He has a Chair in Philosophy at Cornell.
Alvie: Two more chairs, they got themselves a dining room set.
5. Alvie tries cocaine, mentioning that is seems awkward inserting something into his “nasal membrane”. He abrubtly sneezes, and the powder is blown all over the room (very famous scene).
6. Alvie and Annie flashing back to Annie’s former hippy boyfriend. He asks Annie straight-faced, “touch my heart, with your foot”.
7. On the terrace outside Annie’s apartment after just meeting, the two chatter boringly, with subtitles for what they’re really thinking on the screen. Alvie thinking, “Geez- I sound like FM Radio”.
8. Annie’s brother Dewayne (Christopher Walken) clearly a psychopath meeting Alvie, and the delivery of his comment, “I’m due back on planet earth”.
9. “I heard commentary and dissent have merged and formed dysentary"
10. Alvie on the street. (Alvie's just stopped an attractive young couple and asked them the secret of their relationship's success).
Girl: I'm very shallow and empty and I have no ideas and nothing interesting to say.
Man: And I'm exactly the same way. (Classic)

I love it when they're talking outside and their subtitles explain what they are really feeling, and are different from their actual words.
Yeah, that's great filmaking. #7 on the list mentions that incident.
