Know what I think? Because relatively few people read comic books, there's no need to even write new Batman stories for film. I think they should just start adapating several of the great Batman tales to film (and, if they use the same team they are for Begins and keep the budget of each under $150 million, the money basically prints itself).
I'd love to see film adaptations of:
Year One (though, Batman Begins might be similar enough that it's not worth it)
Knightfall
No Man's Land
The Dark Knight Returns
The Long Halloween
...and a dozen others.
And why Bruce Timm didn't adapt 'The Killing Joke' for an episode of his Batman TV series, I'll never know. It was PERFECT for the show (in length and otherwise), and is my FAVORITE Batman comic book!!!!
So what kind of Batman fan are you? Have you read lots of the comics? Me, I'm mostly a fan of the Bruce Timm animated TV shows and some of the post-1990 comics. I can't get into the older comics very easily, and the live action movies so far have done nothing for me.
I have read a lot of German Batman comics, because, here in Europe, the American comics are hardly available. I also collected the action figurines. I have got quite a lot of them, even though my collection is not complete. It will probably forever be incomplete, because the figurines are no longer available.
One of the figurines I still haven't got is the Riddler (from the animated series).
Nevertheless I have got one figurine that is VERY rare: the Scarcrow (from the animated series)
Feedback! Is anyone enjoying this 'Short History Of' series?
Of course! I really like it. As a diehard fan of Batman I enjoy this one especially. ;-)
Cool!

That's a shame.

Are you enjoying these at all?
