SheiKra
Update - May 20, 2005
This was the big day, the 2nd media day for the new coaster. It was the media day for radio shows. The day before, Thursday, was for TV broadcasts. There were maybe a total of, including everyone, 100 people there for the ride Friday. It was fantastic, I love the coaster. Though, the only thing I didn't like was getting nauseous quickly on the ride. But that was alright, it allowed me time to space out the 7 rides I took on SheiKra that day. I will be putting a short video up soon, but for now, there are a few pictures - enjoy!

Huge update today (as the coaster is almost in completion on the track)! Lots of photos in gorgeous weather. Who's excited?
All photos are 960x720 pix or 720x960 pix, so it should take little to no time for them to load. Enjoy!

The lifthill for SheiKra was supposed to be connected today, and it was lifted up and almost in place but then it got lowered down to the ground and that's the last I know. Maybe after I left (around 4:30) it went up, but I'm not sure. The new pictures from today are up but the top of the lifthill is not. I'm puzzled...

I don't know how many people know (or care) but Busch Gardens Tampa is opening a new roller coaster, only the third of its kind in the world - a vertical coaster, or as it is properly referred to - a diving machine. I call it vertical because the drop is angled at...90 degrees. That's right, 90 degrees straight down into the ground (tunnel). The two others are in England (Oblivion at Alton Towers in Staffordshire) and Taiwan (Diving Machine G5 - Janfusun Fancyworld).
Driving to Busch Gardens today brought a great feeling to me and an even better one when I saw the incomplete lifthill staggering over Busch Boulevard and 30th Street. Oh man, this is going to be amazing (just looking at it got my stomach in knots, and it's not even finished!). If I still lived in Tampa, I would be coming weekly for photo updates, but because of my handicap in my current location (Tallahassee) I will be visiting monthly (like usual) to see the progress until it opens in May. I used to be a member of the Florida Coaster Club and am going to rejoin to get to ride SheiKra before it opens to the public. I also plan on shooting a video for the FLCC on that day, so be there, or order a video!
