Scrubs Season 8 - Episode Reviews
Short reviews really, i'm viewing them on the net, so i might miss a few if they are taken down by copyright or something.
8.1 "My Jerks"
Things are looking good ! they've toned down the colours, even the scrubs they are wearing seem duller, more like season 1. Some really funny jokes, i'm really liking the character of the new intern, Denise (though jd has recently nicknaked her "Jo"). She is really insensative to patients in the hospital. Including this cruel joke "it's ironic that cancer starts with 'can' because theres nothing we can do about it" hope this character keeps getting more screen time. interested in where they are going with the janitor getting fired bit. a GREAT start to the season that feels more like a Season 3 episode. I'm also liking the addition of a deleted scene for the end credits rather than the old song and still clips
8.2 "My Last Words"
an emotionally powerful episode, this is also nearly entirely about JD & Turk. I actually think Carla is the only other main cast member who appears in this and only in flashback/fantasy. Turk and JD stay by the bedside of a dying man, talking about their past, his life and the experience of dying. Reminded me very much of my old lady from season 1. i cant wait for the DVd to come out so i can own this episode and watch it again and again. When Turk says "ok, well take a quick nap" to the dying man, such a brilliantly delivered line by donald.

Wow, I totally had low expectations for S8.. clearly they're being well exceeded so far.. brilliant.
"My Last Words" is truely brilliant, up there with all the great emotional scrubs episodes. I don't blame you for having low expectations, i deffinatly did. Some of season 6 was pretty good but not all and S7 was shocking (i'm only buying it on DVD because i have a £10 off HMV voucher) but this new season looks like it could be the best since S3. they have also got rid of the old end credits with that weird hillbilly type music with the stills of the show, i've never thought that suited the show. instead they play a deleted scene/outtake.
Interesting, cool. I've never minded the end credits too much, except for when that jaunty music kicked in after a very emotional moment ("My Lunch", "My Screw-Up" are the main culprits)
I agree with everything that's been said. The first episode was really funny, but the second is seriously one of the all-time greats. I'd probably put it in my top five episodes.
