Nice list. I actually rate Stevie higher than Jimi (I know most people don't agree), but there are some great guitarists on there. Duane Allman was a great guitar player. If you haven't already, listen to the album "Live at the Fillmore East" by the Allman Brothers Band. Unreal slide guitar play by Allman. Especially on "Stormy Monday".

Not really much blues guitarists on there, eh? :) Well, not the most popular genre, naturally, but there are some good guitarists in that area so you might want to check it out either way. B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Albert King, Johnny Copeland, Otis Rush, just too name a few. Maybe you've seen the 24 Nights DVD/CD of Clapton. In the blues sessions he plays alongside Buddy Guy and Robert Cray. Buddy Guy is a fast dude on the guitar, might be the best fit of them all if I see the rest of your list. :)

My favourites are:

Stan Webb (chicken Shack)
Paul Kossoff (Free)
Jeff Beck

Check them out if you get the chance.

If Jeff Beck isn't the greatest (and he may well be), he is certainly the most under-rated...

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

Not underrated by those in the know (i.e. us).
I've twice seen him live (Beck, Bogart & Appice).

I'd rate Clapton first, Page second, and then Hendrix. I'd also have Jeff Beck in there.

Three great guitarists that always get short shrift on these lists are Alvin Lee (Ten Years After), Johnny Winter, and Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple.)
