Good Omens, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
FINALLY reading this.... It's great. I mean, it's THEM writing. Of course it's great.... But I'm starting to think there's been a bit of... overdoing of hype in the people who talk this book up. But then, I'm halfway through. So maybe something mind-blowing is gonna happen yet....
The Shadow Rising, Robert Jordan
.... I don't remember this one at all. Still, the world and the history of that world are what's keeping me going.... (not done with this one yet.)
The Dragon Reborn, Robert Jordan
Another one down. At some point I start getting fuzzy as to wear I gave up the first time around... The main thing that's keeping me going is the amazing depth of the world Jordan created...
The Great Hunt, Robert Jordan
Reread.... was supposed to be reading this series in tandem, but it didn't work out. I am not sure I *want* to be reading them, but it's started now.
The Redemption of Althalus, David and Leigh Eddings
Reread.... It's still the only Eddings other than Belgaraid/Mallorean that I've enjoyed, but the characters tend to all have the same sense of humor.... and there are some plot holes you could build a summer home in.
The Eye of the World, Robert Jordan
Reread with cmonster. Now that he's almost done writing these damn things, I think I can get behind reading the whole series. I got so frustrated the first time because I was picking them up as I found them and ended up rereading an entire book without really being able to tell if it was a reread. Gah.
It is a little ridiculous that there are THREE young men and TWO young women all from the same unbelievably small community who are Wildly Powerful Tools Of Destiny, or whatever. But hey, I dig the Ogier.
Thud, Terry Pratchett
All hail Pratchett.
Theif of Time, Terry Pratchett
I liked it.
Fast Women, Jennifer Crusie
Entertaining... good thoughts on relationships and marriage.
Summers at Castle Auburn, Sharon Shinn
Reread... I *heart* Sharon Shinn.
The Wee Free Men, Terry Pratchett
Per the Evil Twin Reading Conference - Read Life.
~Update~ Halfway through.... the whole Tiffany grieving for her grandmother thing is hitting me pretty hard.
The Lightning Thief, Rick Riordan
Omigods, I'm so in love with this premise I don't know if I can handle it... I wanna draw EVERYTHING.
~Update~ .... I want the next one. Now.
Skinny Dip, Carl Hiaasen
Another Hiaasen. Yup, this guy and Karen would LOVE each other.
