I write poetry. Rather badly, admittedly, and laden with all sorts of angsty cliches. (Lack of capital letters? Check. Crazy punctuation? Check. Unnecessary parenthesis? You guessed it.) But still. Here's one of my poems. Written November 2008.

latesummer
falling:
leaves
"love"
it was on the green.
[children played there in summer]
august 30th. 8:15
[children were in by now]
autumn's callous cull
lurking on the horizon.
[you'd know all about that]
teasing, tempting.
but still august.
so no coats required;
it was still warm
[rapidly getting colder, though
thanks for that]
wine, whine, crying..
pathetic goodbyeing.
I used to
"love"
leaves
falling:
latesummer
