No Love

No Love by AJ

When he was a boy, he never wanted to stay in the kiddie pool
Thought he could walk on water
Now he tries, he tries, but often fails
For no man is a peninsula

I saw him last night
There was no love just instinct
No love
Just instinct

He tries to write “idealism”
But “id” is as far as he gets

Since you made a note in another poem about it never having been 'screened' before, I guess that means the others have been submitted or read in class, or something? Did your professors have any thoughts/notes on these?

No, the others have been published in my school's literary magazine, including this one. I think I mentioned that in the note. Note that not everything that is submitted gets into the magazine, of course, and some of the stuff I submitted didn't make it either, so I didn't post it here.
