Nickelodeon TV-DVD On-Demand..

Seems Nickelodeon have struck a deal with Amazon.com and CreateSpace to distribute some of their TV properties via "burn on-demand" (you order, they burn your copy and ship it out). Sounds good to me - I was thinking I'd never get the likes of Hey Arnold! and Doug on DVD - but if the packaging and such isn't up to standard, I suppose we'd be better off with torrents on the shows. Still, I've got a few orders in anyway! Here's the TVShowsonDVD.com article, although it's missing a link to the apparently already-available Hey Arnold! Season 1, here.

16 Sep 2008: I've since purchased Arnold S1-2 and Doug S1 and I'm pleased to say I'm very happy with them. The AV quality is great (especially for Hey Arnold!) and the packaging is very presentable. Discs played on everything I tried, too.

Hey arnold, Doug and roco's modern life are ones i might get. though i wish Kenan & Kel was on the list

Yeah, they're lacking Kenan & Kel, definitely a shame, as it's the Nickelodeon show I want on DVD most - even though I have them all on my PC. It's a step in the right direction though, I guess if these do well there's hope for more shows.

If you order any, it's worth noting that if they're over £18 they're eligible for customs (you probably already know, but just in case..) As I was placing a big order at Amazon.com anyway I chose their Priority International Courier and pre-paid the customs (it's expensive but if you're buying five or six sets it doesn't seem so bad - I bought House S4, Dexter S2, Hey Arnold S1-2 and Doug S1-2 and The Big Bang Theory S1 [one on your list too I presume?] for about £150.)

cheers for the heads up on the customs. I know thats how it works at playua but i didn't know its the same for amazon so cheers. i've already ordered Big Bang Theory from playusa anyway, so i'll probably wait till i can think of more boxsets i can get aswell as the nick ones

Frasier S10 was released recent and still haven't got that yet! :( though i did get S9

Yeah, I saw you said you were a bit cash-strapped at the mo.. on the bright side, S10 isn't really Frasier's best season anyway :-) Are you getting the R1s?

Well lately i've not been getting R1 as much as i would, not just due to money, but even if i was to get it, it would be R2. i can't play any R1's on my family's dvd player as its not multi-region anymore, the multi broke, so theres loads i cant view anymore unless i watch them on my portable. But tbh i've been watching nearly everything on my portable lately. I'll still get the ones that are way far ahead of the UK (SP, Cheers, Big Bang Theory, *maybe* Scrubs) but it got to the point that i couldn't be bothered and just decided to wait. I mean with only 1 more release of frasier to come out in the UK, i'll wait and get S10 & 11 at the same time (prob xmas)

Did u catch Robot Chicken's or FG star wars spoof btw? i had a few problems with Blue Harvest, i felt it stayed WAY to loyal to star wars, with complete shots being copied perfectly. Not enough pee-take for my liking. Robot Chicken i prefered, didn't like the singing or dancing bits, or the prez bush bit but there was lots of loved, such as Akbar's cereal :)"ITS A TRAP!" "Your tongue can't deflect flavour of that magnitude!" that had me LOL'ing for hours.

Fair enough. I'm happy to stick with R2 for South Park now, as they're coming out at a decent pace (hard to believe this time last year only S1-4 had come out, and even they were out-of-print - now we've got up to S8, come 15th September).

I've got Big Bang Theory pre-ordered too, eagerly awaiting it :-)

I saw FG's "Blue Harvest" and I thought it was fairly good, though (shock horror!) I haven't seen all the Star Wars movies so some jokes passed me by. It's for that reason I'm reluctant to check out the Robot Chicken parody - I probably will do when I've seen all the movies, whenever that may be, sounds good!
