My Latest Addiction

My latest addiction is the band "The Pernice Brothers", formerly the"Scud Mountain Boys." While the "Scuds" were alt-country, Americana, or whatever trendy label the music industry uses to needlessly catagorize every artist in order to increase sales....but I digress...The Pernice Brothers are pure power pop. Think Big Star or Matthew Sweet circa "Girlfriend." If you are familiar with those artists and in addition want to hear the impossibly good voice of Joe Pernice, I would suggest the older "Overcome By Happiness" first. Particularly good cuts on this include "Working Girls" and Monkey Suit." Their newest CD "Yours, Mine & Ours" is a recent purchase, and while it is excellent; I'm still in my initial listenings of it , so it is hard to tell how much it will grow on me.
