Growing up in the 1960s was and remains an illuminating period of your life. While you might have come from an average family from the 1950s, your sensibilities are definitely defined by what you saw, what you remember and what you experienced.
Among the changes which took place was the acceptance of television as a viable mode of entertainment, and how that influenced many other parts of your life.
Rock bands, for example began to appear more in television, and not just on shows such as Hulabaloo, or American Bandstand. Some had their own television shows, and there were always those bands and singers which predominated the rock scene on shows such as Ed Sullivan.
Television dramas were building a very stable and long-lived place as well, and the amount of diversity then is overshadowed by mediocrity in television today.
