Movies I have Recently Viewed
Reservoir Dogs~ Just finished this one. This movie was alright, but was FAR too violent for my taste. It left me feeling physically ill. Some parts it was somewhat justified because it fit the story, but alot of it could've been left out or far more subtle. Would've helped. But it was told wonderfully. The story slowly unraveled and used flashback excellantly. Was pretty good story and executed very well, but the blood was too much for me. Its gets a 'B' or somewhere in that neighborhood.
The Big Lewbowski~ Watched this one last night. I saw it because of my friends thought it was hilarious and quote it everyday in Biology. I didn't think it was funny...at all really...but thought it was a pretty good movie. While some characters like John Goodman's where very believable and got your emotions going, Jeff Bridges is not. Not believable at all. But pretty good, a little hard to follow, but liked the big picture. 'B-'
Donnie Darko~ I loved this movie. This is one of those movies I look forward to seeing many more times to come just so I can absorb it all. It was very well done and well performed, and left me sad, but wishing it hadn't ended. Some parts I didn't quite fully understand, but I would more than love to watch it again and again. 'A' to 'A+'
Snatch~ I watched this one sort of late at night, so I found it hard to follow. I liked the many interweaving happenings, and how for every action there is a reaction. I liked the moral too, but it was just too rushed. The only character I felt I had time to feel for was Brad Pitt's figher. But overall okay. 'B-'
Fight Club~ Very violent. VERY violent. There were parts where I absolutely couldn't watch. But past that, it was an awesome story. Farfetched, but still very real. Again, I would like to watch it again just to get everything straight. I enjoyed myself. 'A' to 'A-'
High Fidelity~ Everybody thinks this movie is really funny. The only funny part, whcih was to say, histarical and the funniest thing I have evr laid eyes on, was when Tim Robbins was having sex. Other than that, not really. Jack Black was good, and his character hit a little to close to home for me, and other than that, I really didn't like this movie. I guess if I was forty or misrible this would be better, but I just was frustrated the entire movie. 'C', but 'A freakin +++' for Tim Robbins on the job.
Pulp Fiction~ Very good. Again, a tad violent for my tastes, bt just everything was justified and this movie left my jaw dropped. I was biting my fingernails at suspenseful parts, and laughing at humorous parts, and just enthralled the whole movie. Great mix of everything that makes a movie good. a 'A+'
The Doors~ I don't know if its quite fair for me to do this one, because I caught it at 3 in morning one Wednesday night because I had some freaky-ass nightmares, and watched most of it. I didn't enjoy it at all. Again, not really fair, because I really dislike the Doors, but this didn't help. I found it poorly directed, poorly performed, and left me thinking Jim Morrison is even more of a no-talented jerk-off fool. But perhaps I'm being too hard. 'D-'
