CASTAWAY ****(2000)

Castaway explores the life of Chuck Noland. He works for Federal Express, his life is ran from the clock. Then one day that all changes as his plane crashes in the pacific and he becomes marooned on a deserted island. There, he learns to live off the land and survive without his outside life. Tom Hanks performance is astounding and the script is crisp and intelligent. The greatness lies in how this man life drastically changes and how he copes with the reality of his situation.

ALMOST FAMOUS ****(2000)

The best film of 2000. This a wonderful coming of age film about a teenager named William Miller, played by Patrick Fugit, who gets to live out a dream that only few of us ever get the oppurtunity to do. He is fifteen and is assigned to write a story for Rolling Stone magazine about a band named Stillwater. The film is sad and funny, heartwarming and thought provoking.
