An enormous weight has been lifted
And this is the end of the beginning
Now the formality, the talk, the laughter
Now I taste the sugar and the spice
Now the movement of the stationary
Now I reach out in the darkness and find something there
Now the soldiers move in random ways while their firm orders blare
Now I finally have something to hold on to
Now the redwood forest, now the open window
Now the water overflows the dam
Now the fire, the passion, the volcano erupting
And now
The silence
Now I leave
Now I think about the others
London bridge is falling down
And this is the beginning of the end
