Looking forward to 2005: The most interesting movies
1. Meet the Fockers
'Meet the Parents' was surprisingly good, and that was above all due to a brilliant Robert De Niro. The sequel could definetly become better, at least the cast deserves high esteem: Robert De Niro is now strengthened by Barbra Streisand (charming as always) and Dustin Hoffman (charismatic as always). Let's hope that the gags will be convincing, too.
Cast: 9/10

Final Result: 30/40 --> interesting enough
2. Robots
Another visually excellent animated movie following the pattern of 'Shrek' and 'Ice Age'? Time will tell.
Cast (voices): 7/10
Interested?: 5/10
Hit Guarantee: 5,5/10
First Screenshots: 6,5/10
Final Result: 24/40 --> perhaps...?
3. Batman Begins
After a break of 8 years, Batman returns to the big screen, for the fifth time. Even though the first four films became increasingly worse, this movie could be the best Batman-movie ever, because of three reasons: 1. Christopher Nolan is the director (and he has already shown his talent with two films: 'Memento' and 'Insomnia'), 2. for the first time Batman is at the centre of the whole story and 3. the cast is REALLY interesting: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson.
Cast: 9/10

Hit Guarantee: 7/10
First Screenshots: 8/10
Final Result: 32/40 --> hot
4. Star Wars: Episode III- The Revenge of the Sith
Two years ago, after the awful 'Episode 1', Lucas brought 'Episode 2' to the screens. The fans and critics were almost disappointed, but nevertheless one could recognize first signs of the quality and charme of the first three adventures. That makes me optimistic for the future. The first screenshots are not very spectacular, but that does NOT have to be negative. Perhaps Lucas has put this time the story at the centre of his film, and not the special effects. Another reason why this film could be great is the fact that one of the greatest actors ever stars in it again: no, not Chewbacca, I mean Christopher Lee. So, lets hope!
Cast: 8,5/10
Interested?: 9/10
Hit Guarantee: 6/10
First Screenshots: 7/10
Final Result: 30,5/40 --> interesting enough
5. The Aviator
I know that this film's US-release is planned for the end of THIS year. Nevertheless the film won't come to European cinemas till 2005. There are three very interesting facts about this movie: 1. It's about director Howard Hughes; 2. the director of this film is nobody else than Martin Scorsese and 3. the cast is interesting: Cate Blanchett (as Katherine Hepburn), Kate Beckinsale, Leonardo DiCaprio (as Howard Hughes, even though Jim Carrey was originally planned for this role), Ian Holm, Alec Baldwin, Gwen Stefani, Jude Law, ... Without having seen the film yet, the critics are already sure that this movie will be the great winner of next year's Academy Awards next year (and that Martin Scorsese will finally be honoured as Best Director). So, this could be the best film of this year. Please note the word 'could'...

Final Result: 32,5/40 --> hot
6. King Kong
thanks to lukeprog
It's the third major remake of the 1933-masterpiece. This project would not be interesting, if Peter Jackson was not the director of the movie. With his 'Lord of the Rings'- trilogy, Jackson has become one of the most powerful directors worldwide and has won three Oscars on this year's Academy Awards-ceremony. The cast is with Naomi Watts, Jack Black and Adrian Brody (Oscar for 'The Pianist' in 2002) in the leading roles not less interesting. And there is still another star: After playing Gollum in the 'Lord of the Rings'- films, Andy Serkis is once more a film monster. He plays the title role, King Kong. These are many interesting facts about the (probably) greatest blockbuster of 2005. Oh, let us not forget the +100 Million Euro- Budget. --> So, 'King Kong' could become either the greatest highlight of 2005 or the biggest disappointment.
Cast: 8
Interested: 9,5
Hit Guarantee: 9
Prequels (1933-original and 1976-remake): 7,5
Final Result: 34/40 --> hot
7. Pirates of the Caribbean 2
thanks to lukeprog
The highlight of 2003's summer was surprisingly neither 'Terminator 3' nor 'Charlie's Angels 2'. The greatest blockbuster was 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' starring Johnny Depp (Oscar-nominated), Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush and Keira Knightley. So, a sequel was only a matter of time. For 2005, it is announced, and Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom are again in it. There are the two only things known about it. Again: time will tell...
P.S.: A second sequel has already been announced for 2007.
Cast: 7,5/10
Interested: 6,5/10
Hit Guarantee: 6/10
Prequel: 8/10
Final Result: 28/40 --> interesting enough (the final result will probably change, as soon as I have more details about it)
--> to be continued...

here's my opinion rearing its ugly head: barbra streisand charming??? ugh, gag me with a pitchfork. if she's in it, de Niro or no de Niro, i won't be spending my dinero or tiempo on it.
So, I guess that you don't like (to put it mildly) Barbra Streisand.
By your other cast ratings, Batman Begins cast should get 14.5/10.
Other 2005 releases I'm really looking forward to (aren't Aviator and Meet the Fockers 2004 releases?):
Aeon Flux
The Brothers Grimm
Cars
The Chronicles of Narnia
The Corpse Bride
Elizabethtown
Fantastic Four
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
King Kong
Kingdom of Heaven
The Legend of Zorro
Madagascar
Pirates of the Carribean 2 (though, something tells me this will be pushed to 2006)
Sin City
The Wallace and Gromit Movie
...many more, to be sure
Yes, I think i should add 'King Kong' to the list.
For the release dates:
'The Aviator': US-Release: 2004/ Release in Euro-Zone: 2005
'Meet the Fockers': At least, the UK-release is put for January 2005. I don't know the date for the US-release.
