The Listology Awards!
Most Impressive Listologist: lbangs - his lists are extensive, numerous, and meticulously commented. Beautiful work, buddy.
Hardest Working Listologist: jim - he's always watching the conversations, moderating the community, seeking out news and reviews, adding features to the site, and more - and still has time to keep adding to his own content.
Coolest Listologist: AJDaGreat - Like an overly clingy woman, I'm sure this one'll ruin our relationship, but this guy's cool. So young, and yet so mature, knowledgable, and socially competant (er, over the Internet anyway, hmmm...), not to mention accomplished, on Listology.
Most Woefully Absent: jgandcag & jblack (tie) - Please, please, please, come back, fellas! Honorable mentions go to jenhowel and Nick Vane.
Recent Updates Page Dominator: lukeprog - MUAHAHAHA! I gave myself an award. Don't like that? Give out your own awards. You know it's true, anyway. I'm sure many Listologists think of me as a shameless attention monger, but I promise I only send my changes to the recent updates page if I've created a new list or significantly changed another (which is, believe it or not, only about half of the time).
Most Organized Listologist: dgeiser13 - he's got things under control. If you know the system, it's easy to find his content.

You know, I've always heard that the Internet can be used to distort facts, but I never really believed it until now. Somehow it has managed to make me seem cool. :-)
Thank you, lukeprog, and nice awards here. I would generally agree with them. And you certainly deserve the award you have given yourself (along with at least honorable mentions for some others).
I think the Internet puts an interesting filter on things. For example, the most widely respected and popular band on the Internet is Radiohead (if you need proof, I will provide it). And while Radiohead gets good reviews everywhere, they don't sell millions of records 'in the real world.' Also, I don't read much at all about mega-popular bands like Evanesence or N Sync (a few years ago) online (except for super mainstream pop sites like mtv.com), despite their popularity offline.
And many of the most popular and respected people online got that way because they do very little elsewhere, and so their list of online accomplishments is long, and elsewhere, short.
I have a theory about that. People who use the Internet are smarter than people who shop at brick n' mortar record stores.
Disclaimer: I know absolutely nothing about any of the bands you mentioned.
hmmm. Well, they have an infinitely larger selection of music at their fingertips, that's for sure.
Radiohead is one of the most critically acclaimed rock bands of the last decade and have been called by many 'the saviors of rock.'
N Sync was the quintissential 'boy band' for a short while, following Backstreet Boys.
Evanesence is a popular favorite today, a hard rock band with a female singer and some piano work.
which prompts me to ask: what kind of music DO you listen to?
I have an archived music list of genres on my iPod. Rock is one of them, but I'd have to say I stopped listening to popular music about four years ago. I was never very up on trends in the music scene anyway, since I favor the more high-tone stuff. I'm the kind of geek who listened to classical music when I was a child.
I'd love to see a list of '20 favorite artists' from you, or something :-)
You sweet boy. You flatter me :)
:-) Nice.
Good 'un! I agree with most of your choices.. and yes, you yourself do indeed deserve an award. :)
Anyone care to stake claims on the "Youngest Listologist" and "Oldest Listologist" awards?
At 47 I might be the "oldest" and "grumpiest". ~;^) I'll take both.
Hmmm... we'll see. Can anyone beat out stumpy here?
Wezzo is 13. He's the youngest Listologist I've seen.
Cool, thanks! Wezzo, if you care to confirm, please do.
I still have a hard time believing there isn't at least one Listologist who's older than stumpy around here.
Wow, thanks!
I am horrible at receiving presents on my birthday, and I am horrible with receiving compliments (which also may happen about once a year), so I will just leave it at that. Thank you.
Shalom, y'all!
