Erich Von Stroheim's film, Greed (1924), is considered by some to be the greatest film of the silent era. It has been reconstructed to restore some of its original footage which was removed when the studio edited it from five hours down to about two hours. This new version will be shown on January 22, as part of the Erich von Stroheim Retrospective at Los Angeles County Museum of Art Film Department January 21 – February 12, 2005
