BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE:
I implore you all to go and see this movie, with an open heart and an open mind.
I'm going to write an article about it, when I've recovered from the immense effect it had on me. THis is not one to watch with your critic glasses on, but with your human glasses on.

My town sucks, so i'm going to have to rent it or go to Austin to see it. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I recently saw "Roger and Me", and it practically took my breath away.
I definitely want to see it as soon as possible.
I'm afraid I won't see Bowling for Columbine until it hits the rental market, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. I've been a fan of Michael Moore ever since Roger & Me, and I loved his show TV Nation (which was doomed to fail, of course).
I'd like to see The Big One and And Justice For All, although the latter seems to have disappeared from the rental landscape entirely, and only got 5 votes on the IMDb (and a rather dismal score to boot).
Have you checked out www.michaelmoore.com?
Ah, I had forgotten all about TV Nation. Tons of fun. Wasn't that on Fox, IIRC?
Not always as dead-on as it wanted to be, but when it hit, hoo boy!
Shalom, y'all!

I found this page on the show, which suggests it started as an NBC summer replacement series before making the switch to FOX. Too bad it was such a short-lived show!
Oh hey, have you seen The Awful Truth? I just stumbled across the DVD in my Michael Moore surfing.
No, I haven't. That was on Bravo, right? My basic cable package doesn't include Bravo (which is sad, but not as sad as the fact that it doesn't include TCM, which is a damn shame... :( )
Was it on par with TV Nation? Perhaps I ought rent it!
Shalom, y'all!

I haven't seen it either. We've been TV-less for about five years so I'm woefully (or blissfully, depending on your POV) out of the loop (except for The West Wing, which my folks tape for us). I'm going to stick season 1, disc 1 of The Awful Truth into my Netflix queue. Might be awhile before it comes though.
Yeah, I'm rather out of the loop as well. I have a television, and my apartment comes with basic cable, but other than a peek every now and then at the video channels, I haven't watched much television in the last year. I started 24, but didn't get to finish it.
Lately, however. Bonnie Hunt has drawn me back. I remember she used to have a killer short lived show in the 90s (The Building), so I've been watching (and have generally been pleased) with her new Life with Bonnie. A few other shows seem tempting, but I've yet to bite. Not having HBO, I'm thinking I might have to rent the Sopranos.
Maybe I'll try 24 again...
Shalom, y'all!

I watched season one of the The Sopranos on DVD and it was terrific. I think you'd enjoy it. I'm hoping the TV-on-DVD phenomenon continues, as it's a great way to watch TV. And you know I'm still hoping for that complete Homicide DVD set. :-)
That would make two of us, my friend...
Shalom, y'all!

I forgot to add, in case you didn't hear about it, Bowling for Columbine was the first documentary admitted to the Cannes film festival in 43 or 46 (can't remember) years, received a standing ovation, and a special 55th anniversary prize was concocted just to be given to Moore.
The tv show is great, but this is really something even quite greater.
And I did check out the website, thanks Jim!
