Blockbuster video has announced the top 10 favorite family holiday movies, according to their survey. They also found that Jimmy Stewart is still the favorite holiday actor, but Tim Allen is America's favorite Santa. I can't disagree with the former, but I think the latter might be because there aren't many big-name actors who have portrayed Santa.
Based on this latest Christmas, we'll probably watch these yearly: A Christmas Carol (1951), It's a Wonderful Life (which I finally saw 3 days ago), Miracle on 34th Street (1947), The Santa Clause, and The Grinch That Stole Christmas.
We really liked Tim Allen as a reluctant Santa, but I'd agree that he's probably benefitting from the recency effect in terms of "best Santa." Still, it's a fun movie, and one that we've enjoyed rewatching.
