_The 100 Best Films of All Time (34-30)
34. All About Eve

Director: Joseph L. Mankiewicz
Cast: Bette Davis, Anne Baxter, George Sanders
Genre: Drama
Academy Awards: 6 (including Best Picture)
Year: 1950
Imdb-Rating: 8.5
Critic's opinion (Brian Koller):
"All About Eve" is a black comedy that cynically skewers the theater, with an outstanding and wicked script. It was nominated for an amazing fourteen Oscars, winning six including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay. Joseph L. Mankiewicz both directed and adapted the screenplay from Mary Orr's "The Wisdom of Eve".
33. Rear Window

Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Cast: James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Raymond Burr
Genre: Thriller
Academy Awards: 0
Year: 1954
Imdb-Rating: 8.7
Critic's opinion (Steve Rhodes): REAR WINDOW is a cinematic treasure. You don't want to miss your chance to see this classic on the big screen. If you've only seen the movie on a television screen, there is a lot of texture and activity that you've probably never noticed before. When the picture comes to your area, go immediately. It will probably have a highly limited run at one or two theaters, and, if you procrastinate, you'll miss your opportunity to see something wonderful.
32. Goodfellas

Director: Martin Scorsese
Cast: Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci
Genre: Thriller
Academy Awards: 1
Year: 1990
Imdb-Rating: 8.6
Critic's opinion (Jerry Saravia): It is as perfect as any movie I've seen, and it is clearly Scorsese at the top of his game pulling one trick out of his hat after another. Sure, it is tough to watch, could be considered morally repugnant, and some of it is not meant for all tastes (like the grisly stabbing at the beginning of the picture). But it is about mob life, how easily that life can be taken away in the blink of an eye, and notably how alluring the life of a mobster can be. The allure is all that Henry Hill wanted, and it is a shame he did not see it any other way.

Director: Steven Spielberg
Cast: Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Paul Freeman
Genre: Adventure
Academy Awards: 4
Year: 1981
Imdb-Rating: 8.6
Critic's opinion (Dragan Antulov): RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK might be inferior to STAR WARS in terms of cultural importance, but this film still deserves to be praised as Hollywood masterpieces and loved even by those viewers who aren't as sentimentally attached to it as the author of this review.
30. Sunset Blvd.

Director: Billy Wilder
Cast: William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim
Genre: Film Noir
Academy Awards: 3
Year: 1950
Imdb-Rating: 8.6
Critic's opinion (Long Che Chan): Sunset Boulevard has a classic negativism on Hollywood and the fickleness of fans. It is perfect- the acting by the cast is well-done, at times flawless; the photographer creates a dark habitat for Norma Desmond- a near-extinct animal, giving the film an exceedingly gloomy feeling; the set is quite remarkable- the production designer has created a memorable location for Norma Desmond to seduce her prey; the score is sharp and staccato- murderous like Norma. The film is phenomenal really and it should be experienced as soon as possible.
